Optimista
Lisbon
The pre-existing site and the very idea of optimism were the perfect basis for this contemporary yet traditional space. “Optimism is always the best recipe” was the motto chosen for a place of poetry, good mood and happiness.
The unicorn “Pureza” became a leit motif and a mascot for the restaurant, also inspired by the spirit of the location and the desire to create a Portuguese environment that brought together national references, the unusual from nature, art objects and contemporary authors.
Contrasting the rigidity of the marble wainscot and the high ceiling height was one of the objectives, achieved through the choice of equipment, materials, objects and vibrant textiles; a fusion between classic and contemporary always in a conductive line that passes through 3 pillars: fauna, flora and art.
The relationship between the dining room and the kitchen, with a fundamental transparency in the definition of the space, was also decisive for the perception that was wanted for a sophisticated and simple cuisine, close and reliable, with everything in sight.
The final touch is on the walls, which exhibit works by various authors.
Optimista quickly became a reference in Lisbon.
